Are You Superstitious? How Energy, Manifestation, and Quantum Physics Shape Life and Business

Today’s daily blog prompt is all about superstition—are you superstitious? Do you believe in lucky charms, avoiding walking under ladders, or the power of knocking on wood?

I wouldn’t say I’m traditionally superstitious, but I do believe in the power of energy. If you put positivity into the world, you tend to receive positivity in return. On the other hand, if you focus on negativity, it often comes back tenfold. Recently, I’ve been learning more about human design, and I’ve discovered that I’m a Manifesting Generator—a type that thrives on following what feels right and responding to what excites them.

When I Wasn’t Following My Human Design

Looking back, I now realise there was a time when I wasn’t aligned with my human design—when I was teaching about Sepsis.

Although I knew it was important, it really impacted my mental health. I was constantly reliving one of the most painful moments of my life—being 15 minutes away from not surviving. It was necessary work, but it didn’t light me up. Instead, it kept me stuck in a place of trauma and emotional exhaustion.

Now that I’m focused on what truly aligns with me, I’m amazed at the difference I see in myself. Even though Amelia’s birth and our NICU journey were traumatic, helping other parents through similar experiences brings me a deep sense of purpose and fulfilment. Unlike my experience with Sepsis, supporting NICU parents feels right, and I can see the difference I’m making.

One of the most interesting things about our journey is that, despite how rare and unique Amelia’s umbilical cord complications were, I don’t experience PTSD from it. I think part of the reason is that our story is so uncommon, so I don’t encounter triggers in everyday life. Instead, I feel empowered knowing that I can support other parents navigating similar experiences.

Healing from Birth Trauma

That being said, there was a time when talking about birth trauma was difficult. In the early days, I definitely struggled with PTSD, and it affected me deeply. However, therapy was incredibly therapeutic for me. I worked through so many of my emotions, unpacked my experiences, and over time, I was able to move through the trauma rather than being stuck in it.

Now, I can talk about birth trauma from a place of healing, not pain. I know how overwhelming and isolating it can feel, and that’s why I’m so passionate about helping others feel seen, validated, and supported.

Manifestation in Business: The Law of Attraction and Law of Assumption

Finding my true path has also deepened my interest in manifestation, the Law of Attraction, and the Law of Assumption. These principles aren’t just about personal growth—they play a huge role in business and success as well.

Law of Attraction: You Get What You Focus On

The Law of Attraction states that what you focus on expands. In business, this means:

✔ If you focus on growth, you create momentum.

✔ If you focus on limitations, you stay stuck.

✔ If you expect success, you take action that leads to success.

The most successful business owners don’t dwell on what might go wrong. Instead, they stay focused on opportunities, solutions, and possibilities.

Law of Assumption: Acting As If Success Is Inevitable

The Law of Assumption takes it a step further—what you assume to be true, becomes true.

• If you assume clients are eager to work with you, they will be.

• If you assume your business will thrive, you act accordingly.

• If you assume abundance flows to you, you make financial decisions from a place of confidence instead of fear.

This is why mindset matters just as much as strategy in business. It’s not just about what you do—it’s about what you believe is possible.

The Quantum Physics Behind Success

Even quantum physics supports these ideas. The double-slit experiment showed that particles behave differently when observed, suggesting that our thoughts and expectations shape reality.

If our beliefs and focus influence our external world, then it makes sense that:

• Believing in success leads to confident decision-making.

• Expecting growth creates opportunities.

• Assuming abundance attracts wealth.

This is why the most successful people act as if their success is inevitable—because in doing so, they make it a reality.

Are You Superstitious—Or Just Aware of Energy?

While I wouldn’t call myself superstitious in the traditional sense, I now understand that energy, beliefs, and alignment shape our experiences. Therapy helped me heal from my past, and now that I’m following work that truly lights me up, I can see the power of manifestation, mindset, and quantum energy at play.

Are you superstitious?

Published by Laura Johnstone

Hi I'm Laura. In 2023 I had a very traumatic pregnancy and in turn had a planned premature baby at 32 weeks (we had been told to expect anything from 23 weeks). With multiple visits to specialist hospitals in Southampton and London we went through a journey. Consequently I am wanting to help others that were in my position as well as talk about different and sometimes difficult parenting issues.
