When asked what activities I could lose myself in, my answer is simple: anything that involves Amelia.
Right now, that means reading Noisy Farm and Hickory Dickory Dock—her favourite lift-the-flap books. It means playing with her toys, dolls, and making the most of soft play adventures. It means watching her eyes light up as she learns something new, her little hands eagerly flipping pages, and her excitement when she spots an animal she recognises.
I never get tired of these moments. Seeing her grow and learn over the past two years has been one of the greatest joys of my life. And the best part? This is only the beginning.
Right now, it’s books, dolls, and playtime. But as she gets older, those activities will change. One day, she might swap soft play for dance classes, puzzles for board games, and bedtime stories for books of her own choosing. And I can’t wait to be right there with her, sharing in her joy, whatever form it takes.
Losing myself in these moments with Amelia isn’t just an activity—it’s a privilege. And I’m so excited to see what the next 40 years will bring.
